Oh My Goodness, That Was Freakin' Awsome!!!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I always wanted to be a singer. I got my very first microphone at an early age and kept on going. All through school I was involved in music-vocal music. Choir, choir contests, choir camps, voice lessons, talent shows, you name it if it was singing I was on it. I still love to sing, but my biggest and best may I add audience is Hannah and she says "Mom I'm trying to hear this, could you stop now?" Oh well you can't keep a girl from her dream, right???? I always wanted to sing like Reba and I thought she was the most awsome performer there ever had been or ever would be. Well she is still way beyond awesome, but now enters another dynamic performer!!! Country music rocks!!!

For my birthday, Joey got us tickets to the Carrie Underwood (she is know as Carrie Underwear in our house) Carnival Ride tour featuring Little Big Town. I can not tell you the last time I had such a great time. The show was on Oct. 26th, (a Sunday, so Hannah didn't get to go and boy she was upset), at the Desoto Civic Center. We had a great seats and saw the whole show with out any problems, well except the fact that we forgot the camera and had to use our cellphones to take pictures. I got pictures though, no matter how BAD they are!!! :)

Little Big Town opened the show. I had heard Little Big Town on CMT and the radio and I liked them, but after watching their show I must say they now have a new fan. I love to hear those four people fit their voices together so tightly to make such beautiful harmony. They sang a ton of songs and really got the crowd up and going.

They got us all ready for the one and only...

CARRIE UNDERWEAR, um UNDERWOOD!!!!!!
This is were the show went into "the beyond" for me! She entertains much the same as Reba, but I might even say better. She talked to us about taking her mom to the CMAs just because she knew her mom would pay for dinner. When she sang "All American Girl" she pulled a little nine year old girl up from the audience and let her sing with her. She really put on a highly energetic show! It was a really good show. The thing that amazed me the most though was at the end of the show she came out and sang "Paradise City" by Guns and Roses. I am not talking a sugary sweet country version, I am saying the version with primal screams and headbanging-to me, probably not Joey-true rocker style! I would never imagined she was a country singer had I heard this first. Then again, I would not have imagined that big singing voice coming out of a girl that sounds and looks like she weighs a buck o'five. I left the show and asked Joey if we could go buy her other CD but he said midnight was little late to be shopping. Oh well, I had a great time and was really impressed with both bands. There is soooooo much more to share, but I just don't know where to start. I loved every second of the whole show. Sorry I rambled, but atleast I blogged!? I hope your weekend was good too!

Fall Break or Fall Out?

Well I was on Fall Break this week and while it was nice to be out of school, I think I was more stressed out and busier than any week I have spent at school so far this year.

My vacation started out really rocky right before we left for our trip to Springfield (for us it is "The Happiest Place on Earth"). Shoot, forget the Drew Barrymore and her family, don't give a second thought to Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight(sp), it some of the people in my family-you heard right folks-members of my family should win EVERY CATEGORY FOR EVERY OSCAR THAT HAS TO DO WITH DRAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it can be made in to a major drama-and I am talking a real Scarlet O'Hara here-it will be done. You got a drama pot? I got an uncle and family that can stir it for you!!! They will be happy to a little, make that a lot of chaos to your life. Anyway, enough about that because I could sit here for the next six years and rant about that.

Let's go back to my happy place, shall we? On Friday after school, Joey, Hannah, and I left to go and see our best buds in the whole world. What people fail to understand is that this is my trip of the year. If I go nowhere else that is fine as long as I make it to Springfield every October! I love being with Kodi, Trai, and Emmarie! They just bring out the best in me, they make me happy. I am so peaceful up there and it is great.

We stayed really busy the whole weekend! My crew enjoyed celebrating Princess Emmarie's birthday. I was so excited that she took up with me this time. After the party and on Sunday we went around town and everytime we would get out of the car she would greet us withbig hug and a very excited "Joey and Heather I missed you so much!" I loved it! I can't believe how big she is. I really got a kick out of her calling Joey "Miss. Huncle Joey" and Hannah coming to me and telling me Emmarie had given her a new nickname-"Hey Hannah Little".

On this trip I got to meet Kodi's friend Holly. I have read her blog since her son Tanner was born prematurely this summer, so I was very excited to get to meet the famous duo in person. Moms always have a really neat "connection" but moms of preemies seem to go past that even.

Two other biggies were going to the farm that Kodi has blogged about and my family's first trip ever to a pumpkin patch. Both outings were great fun and being with our very best friends made it even better.

On Monday we sadly came home and I started cleaning, Tuesday I spent the day with my friend Cathy then I came home and cleaned some more, and Wednesday I started cleaning as soon as I got up and have not stopped since. I must say I have worked my tush off. I have not only cleaned up but I have cleaned out: closets, shelves, dressers and so on (seven 39 gallon garbage bags and six 13 gallon garbage bags). I am still cleaning today, though I have gone to a more leasurely pace. The appraiser came this morning and the pest control man just left, I am working on and off on my kitchen and about to start laundry. I am going to start going through two other closets, Joey is going to clean his closet, and I am going to go through fall clothes this weekend. So, by Monday I will be ready for Fall Break.

Well, I haven't blogged in a while so this should do it for a few days anyway. Sorry it was so long, but I was just so dearn proud that I cleaned my house! You can ask everyone, it doesn't happen often, but wow it feels good now that I have!

Sometimes Your Heart Gets Broken

What do you do when you have a friend, that you have been practically inseperable from for a long time, that suddenly wants no part of you? How do you deflect that heartbreak? This friend is going through some incredible trials right now, but to tell your friend don't call me, I'll call you, seems a little scary to me. I have been down this road so many times before. I miss my friend, I want to help her, reach out to her during this hard time, but she won't even return my phone calls. I have cried and cried over this. I saw her this weekend at Weight Watchers and she talked to me very casually, but she talked so I am more inclined to think maybe she doesn't HATE me. I don't know. My heart breaks when I think about it. I could hardly sleep last week because of it. It is never good when you hear "It's not you, it's me..." no matter who it comes from. I have just been so sad because part of me thinks she really must hate me and the other part believes what she says about needing to deal with her stuff.

Hopefully this will be a better week...

Kodi, I can't wait for you and your gang to come visit!

What Do You Do?

I just have to wonder sometimes why things happen. My cousin Jamie, whom I was raised with as a brother/sister relationship, has been so angry since his brother died in 2006. I completely understand that, but when I tried to reach out to him he told me to go to hell and crushed me! He has a son that he has NOTHING to do with. I adore that little boy and I am best friends with his son's mother. I am so angry with Jamie and think he is useless, but he has been coming around, back to the old Jamie. We aren't having heart to heart talks or anything, but we have general conversation, speak to each other. I just feel torn because I am still angry and hurt with him, and having any conversation no matter how small talkish it is makes me feel as though I am betraying Emily. Jamie is not welcome at my house because I don't trust him. He has changed and he is still angry and acts really strange and just a lot of other stuff. I just don't know what to do. I feel like I am talking out of both sides of my mouth but I am not. Jamie is a screw up that has no respect for anyone. There has been no loving reunion between us, just small talk and a picture of us at Christmas. Am I in the wrong?

Anyway, yesterday was Hazel's birthday. She is 59. All she could talk about was wanting to be 60. She was being weird. Everyone was just kinda looking at her funny. I got her a Grandmother's bracelet, but I don't think she liked it. It was one of those, oh-thaaaatsss niceeeee... I hope she liked it because I really thought about what I wanted her to have and I thought she would like it.

I am falling asleep as I type so I have to stop in mid-blog. Sorry to do this!
