Wow!

Well, I have been a very busy girl as of late. My sister flew in Friday night and we have been on a non-stop go 'til ya drop marathon. Saturday we had a cookout at my Uncle Johnny's house, pictures to come later and Sunday I took her to my church and she cooked dinner for us. I tell you I have never had so much home-cooked food in my house ever. She cooked again on Monday night and I think my poor husband was about to pass out. I sure hope he doesn't get used to it. After Robin leaves we go back to chicken nuggets. YEAH RAH! In addition to all of this business, Hannah has had dance practice and Vacation Bible School.

We left at eight Tuesday morning and came to Nashville. We stopped at the Loretta Lynn Museum and we saw all of her dresses and memorabilia. Robin and I liked it, Hannah was ready to bounce off the walls, although she did like walking through the tour bus. Next, we came into Nashville and went into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Again, my sister and I enjoyed it, but my daughter lost her everlovin' mind! Satan took her over. It really is hard to be five, cooped up in a car and visit two museums in one day I guess. Well, after we got out of the Hall of Fame and I nearly got all of us killed in the most horrible sea of drivers in the free world, yes, I think they are worse than Memphis, and getting lost, we made it to the hotel for a few minutes of rest. Robin saw how flustered I was and decided we should call a cab to take us to our next stop, The Grand Ole Opry. I can only describe it as WOW!

As a "country singer" the Opry is the ultimate. I have always dreamed of standing on that stage. When you walk in the Opry, there is just this vibe that surrounds you. It is really cool. Tonight we saw, Porter Wagoner, who must have been born when Moses was a small child, Bill Anderson, Little Jimmy Dickens, the dirtiest old man in country music, Jimmy Wayne, Jason Aldean, Sugarland, Craig Morgan, and Carrie Underwood. Hannah was pretty good this time except when I tried to make her stop head banging and she decided she would try to bite me. Yeah, I don't know where that came from either, but Aunt Robin saved the day before I got a little to involved in the situation.

We have had a busy few days and will be having a few more just like it. Today, we will go on the General Jackson Lunch Cruise and Show as well as a horse drawn carriage tour of downtown Nashville with a trip to the Rainforest Cafe and some other fun stops for Hannah along the way. Thursday we will head back toward home so we can go to the carnival at church, Friday is dance practice and a possible Coyote Ugly trip for the grown ups Friday night, Saturday is some family time and Sunday, Aunt Robin leaves us. I don't want to think about Sunday so, I won't.

Sorry for the long rambling, I will post pics of some of the stuff we've done. Be good until next time...

wow, you have been busy. i'm glad you blogged. i hadn't heard from you in forever. i'm sure that trip is rough on a five-year-old. it sounds like the time we took our students to the titanic museum. we (teachers) thought it was great, but our students were horrible. asking them to be quiet and respectful for that long when they couldn't read the crap was horrible!we'll never make that mistake again! hopefully hannah has more fun later! i'm so jealous that you got to see sugarland and carrie underwood! i love them.
