Another Year Another Year Wiser or Maybe Not

Well, today marked my 31st birthday. Am I depressed? Honestly, I'm not. I have made it through another year with no major scratches, a wonderful husband, a really cool little girl that totally entertains and amazes me, and a few wonderful friends like you and Trai and Emily Crocker (I have told you about her Kodi, you may not remeber her though).

This has been a very trying year, but I have come through it much stronger than I went into it. I accomplished goals that I never thought possible. I graduated with my masters in education: Elementary Reading and Literacy, I have successfully dealt with and am dealing with issues that have haunted me for years that I just couldn't get past and am on my way to putting them behind me. I have learned a lot too!

I learned:

  • how to be a dependable friend, not just a dependent friend
  • how to stand up for myself and what I believe in (Anyone who know me knows that is HUGE).
  • I don't have to "keep up with the Jones'", stuff is just stuff, you shouldn't miss what you don't have
  • I need to take pride in what you have and work hard for what you
    want
  • that jealousy gets you nowhere, but makes you feel damn miserable
  • finally, I learned that it is okay to be who I am, I don't have to
fit the mold, no I am still not comfortable in my own skin, but I
know in my head for the first time that everything in the world
is not my fault, I am okay if I am not perfect, and if people
don't like me that is okay too

I have had a wonderful day so far! The first great gift was that I got to change schools that was a really good early present. I know everyone tired of hearing about it, but I just can't convey how much I love it, Mama's present to me was paying for my visit to the "fat doctor" so I can get the 15lbs pounds off that I have gained back and the other 7 I want to lose to get back to my lowest weight so far or 17 I am wanting to lose to get to what my doctor says should be my goal weight. I asked for Mama's gift, it was not her idea. Joey, Emily, and I are probably going to Tunica tonight, minus Hannah and Jameson.

As a side note, Hannah is having surgery on her leg to remove the tumor on October 8th, It will probably be a day surgery. She will breeze through it though! She is SUCH a trooper.

Hello Heather! Thanks for visiting my blog. I read yours today and must say that we wear several similar hats!!! Kindergarteners are pretty special and their moms are too. Kodi has a lot of fun to look forward to with Emmarie in a couple of years. I am very sorry to hear about your Uncle. He sounds like he was an amazing man. Ryan and I are living in Springdale, AR now. It's just North of Fayetteville, so I guess we are going to have to learn to be HOG fans!!! Take care!
